But not everything from the period is remembered.(I think the Beatles are the Beethoven 20th century, but we don't listen to everything Beethoven composed either.)<br /><br />I often write in the past and have the reverse problem. For instance, the 1920s wasn't just slappers and the Charleston. Fortunately, we can look up popular songs, movies and fashions by decade, as well as names.<br /><br />Speaking of names, contemporary authors need to remember their Asims to Zaids and Aadyas to Zaras.
